MM Controls, Inc

Founded in 1996, MM Controls Inc. has a track record of creating cost-effective and bug-free software. The principal of MM Controls Inc., Mike McIntyre, has over 25 years of experience writing software and over 15 years experience writing software for embedded systems.

MM Controls, Inc. is based in Portland, Oregon, although about half of our jobs are for companies in the Eastern time zone. We do charge a slightly lower rate for field work performed in the Portland and San Diego metropolitan areas, though. We will work outside the USA, but because of all the different rules for different countries we will only work as a subcontractor to a US based company (to date, we've done work in Canada and Germany).

Our list of clients has included billion-dollar corporations and single-person small businesses. We have experience in many industries, including automated material handling, injection molding, investment casting, robotic workcells, forest products equipment, and chemical process using just about every control scheme used today, including embedded controllers, PLCs, DCSs, and SCADA systems. We have used just about every operator interface device available, such as stand-alone interfaces (i.e. PanelMate) and Windows-based packages (i.e. RSView and Wonderware). For advanced operator interface requirements, we have extensive Win32 programming experience in both C++ and Visual Basic.

While we prefer to provide software and startup solutions to OEMs and system integrators, we can provide a turnkey control system to an end user, if the job isn't too large. We have drafting and documentation resources and a good working relationship with a contract panel shop.

We have a strict policy of not competing with our customers. We don't work on any of their equipment that contains MM Controls software, unless as a subcontractor. In the below cases this policy is expanded beyond just equipment containing our software:
- Any equipment made by the Coe Manufacturing Co.
- Any Howmet Wax Injection Press.
- Matrox Image Library work inside the PSI Solutions sales territory of AK, WA, OR or ID.
If you would like us to work on any of the equipment listed above, please contact the OEM to arrange it; they would be more than happy to accommodate you, although the rates will of course be somewhat higher than what MM Controls would charge you directly.
